ISIS captures 88 Eritrean Christians in Libya

The ISIS terror group kidnapped 88 Eritrean Christians from a people-smugglers' caravan in Libya last week, a U.S. defense official confirmed Monday.

The defense official confirmed initial reports of the mass kidnapping after seeing a recent intelligence report.

The convoy was ambushed by militants south of Tripoli before dawn this past Wednesday morning.

Meron Estafanos, the co-founder of the Stockholm- based International Commission on Eritrean Refugees, said that the group of migrants included "about 12 Eritrean Muslims and some Egyptians.

They put them in another truck and they put 12 Eritrean women Christians in a smaller pick-up"

. Estafanos said that the militants had initially stopped the truck and demanded that the Muslims on board make themselves known.

Everyone who responded was asked about the Koran and their religious observance in an attempt to catch Christians pretending to be Muslims.

The main body of the group was put back on the original truck.

As the militants drove the vehicle away, at least 9 men attempted to escape by diving off the back of the truck.

Estefanos said 3 of those who had escaped were safe, but still trying to get out of Libya.

The fate of the others was not known.

Libya has become a jumping-off point for thousands of migrants from the Middle East and sub-Saharan Africa who attempt the dangerous Mediterranean crossing to southern Europe.

However, Libya's ongoing instability has led to an increased presence by ISIS and other terror groups, increasing the risk for Christians and other non-Muslims attempting the crossing.

“If you talk to girls in these 3 ways, they will fall crazily in love with you' by Charles Nneji

Written by Charles Nneji Today, here and right now, I’m going to expose some secrets to you.

This article might appear long, but don’t worry…

I have added headlines and pictures through-out it to make it easy for you to scan through (Though I will advise you go through every word here slowly).

My name is Charles Nneji; Author of The Bang Rule (The number one best selling Nigerian eBook on dating for men).

I’m also the owner of www.straffcode.com (The biggest Nigerian Blog on dating advice for men) Let me make you a promise before you start reading; if you are a guy and have always wondered why girls you really really like never seem to like you back then this would be the most important blog-post you will ever come across this whole year.

If you want to completely eliminate the “hard to get” attitude you get from women then come with me…

Now, in this post, I will show you 3 psychological tricks that you can use to communicate with girls and get them to like you.

These 3 ways of talking to girls that i am about to pour on your laps always work like magic , every single time.

With just these three ways of talking to girls you can get them to become addicted to you, always come around you and basically love to be around you like crazy.

Turn it up just a bit, use it on your dream girl and you will have her sending you love texts like her life depends on it Go through these strategies then ask any girl around you weather they work and my guess is that they would give you a resounding yes.

Before i go into the strategies let me quickly tell you why these strategies work. Now come with me.

WHY DOES THIS SECRET I WILL REVEAL TO YOU WORK SO WELL?

Here is the thing; - One; girls always get guys coming around them - every single time.

Walk through a girl's Facebook inbox and you will be marveled at the tons of unread messages in it.

In real life, same thing happens - they get approached by guys all the time. An average girl gets approached by at least two guys every week or two guys everyday if she is pretty (And that is 4 guys every week) This attention gets to a girl's head, she starts feeling like a prize and when that happens – “shakara” steps in. - Two; Girls are bombarded by loads and loads of boring guys every day. it can be tiring, trust me - what they do is to filter away the boring guys and focus on the more interesting ones.

If girls don't like talking to you long in real life and on social media then it means you are not communicating with them in these three ways I’m about to reveal.

If girls always give you "k" and "lol" on social media, it is not because they are rude - it is because you are plain boring (that is the painful truth).

But here is the good news, you can change how you communicate with girls and become a more attractive guy by using this 3 strategies Here they are –

THE 3 WAYS TO TALK TO GIRLS THAT WILL MAKE THEM ATTRACTED TO YOU

1. Teasing 2. Sarcasm 3. Bedroom talk Let’s take them one by one… #1. Teasing: Some guys can be a big nightmare to girls.

What girls hate like crazy is a guy who keeps asking tons and tons of questions when they discuss with them. Questions like: "how was your day", "have you eaten", "hope your day was good", "hope you are fine" All in one chat/conversation.

This is boring, it bores the hell out of girls.

You have to be more interesting than that if you want that girl to find you interesting.

You have to flirt with her using the teasing strategy.

How does this work?

Simple - teasing basically means to make fun of a girl in a playful way. Let me give you practical examples - Instead of coming to a girls Facebook Picture and commenting with "Beautiful Picture" (which is boring - every guy does it), You could flip this around and comment instead with - "Comot here joor, you are too sexxxy for my liking, i can't date someone like you." To a guy, a talk like this is silly (i know) but to a girl it works like magic. (Try it right now, go on Facebook and try it out under a girl's picture and watch her reaction). More examples - You could call up a girl and instead of asking her "did you think of me?" (which is as boring as hell and makes her feel like you are begging to be thought of), the best way to start the conversation is to playfully say - "I know you've been thinking about me all day so i am here to free your mind" *smile* "how are you". The reason why this works on girls is that it: - Makes you different from other guys who are boring - Makes you appear confident. - Makes you more attractive because by making fun of her you give her the impression that you are not trying to impress her like other guys do (and nothing is as attractive to girls as a guy who doesn't try to impress them like a puppy) Now note; it doesn't matter what you say but how you say it. Someone can say the above things and it will seem like he is arrogant while another person would say the exact same thing and it would work like a magnetic magic on a girl. So the right way to tease a girl is to always to make fun of her with a smile. it doesn't mean saying nasty things to her; the right way to tease is to always make it seem like you are playing around with your little sister.
for more on how to tease a girl and the right ways to go about it so as to make her see you as a potential boyfriend in minutes, that is where my website www.straffcode.com and my e-book comes in.

In the eBook i went into very deep details on how to tease your way into a girl's heart - no matter how tough or hard to get she is (to get the e-book you can add the number on watsapp and send your messages to it or call my sales manager on 0703183929.

If we haven’t reached our sales limit, details on how to get the ebook will be sent to you).

TIP #2 SACARSM This is another powerful way to communicate with girls that will make her find you interesting.

But before i go into this strategy proper, let me first tell you why it works. Every single minute a girl gets attention from dozens upon dozens of guys struggling real hard just to impress her.

During a girl's teenage years, she finds this interesting and she might even fall in love with you if you show her enough interest than other guys.

But as she grows older she gets used to it and it starts to bore her.

A teenage girl might fall for sweet talk but a grown girl won't - as a matter of fact she has heard it all.

Two; girls are never attracted to guys who always try to impress them - they prefer free guys who they cannot control.

If you join dozens of other guys who are saying the same sweet things and acting in the same sweet way then how do you intend to stand out? That is where "Sarcasm" comes in...it makes you stand out, It gives a girl the impression that you are not like the next guy who will only say what she wants to hear just to please her, it shows her that you are in control, it shows her that you are DIFFERENT - and girls find that attractive. So how do you apply sarcasm in real life? Again i will give you real life examples - let me use Facebook again; Take for instance a girl puts up a new profile picture you could inbox her and say

- "Thank God for that profile picture, no guy will look at it two times and that means there is no way they will take you from me - keep uploading those kinda ugly picture"

If she gets angry don't apologizes (assuming she is the dull type that doesn't understand a joke - a smart girl will understand a joke when she hears it).

Also, for instance; if a girl says hi to you on social media you could reply with: 'You want to snatch me from my girlfriend abi, alright, if i must cheat on her for you then i need 2 sons from you" You get the gist?; mixing a little sarcasm with a little humor is the key.

It makes you appear like you have options, but when you run around trying to impress a girl like your life depends on it it gives her this impression that you don't have much choices (that could turn a girl off big time).

Girls love guys who have self worth and not ones who jump up whenever they (the girls) says jump.

For more of how to use this strategy plus other powerful secrets of getting your dream girl to fall for you, contact 08158068422 on watsapp to get a copy of my e-book "The Bang Rule...

Ultimate Seduction Guild For Nigerian Guys" If you think my ebook can’t help you; I understand your skepticism – just visit my website on www.straffcode.com , read all the tips there then decide.

TIP #3 BEDROOM TALK. Alright, now we are here - the final strategy.

I will have to carefully go through this one so we all can get it. First, let's look at why this strategy works.

The thing is this; if a girl sees you as just a friend then that is what you will remain - no matter what. Girls RARELY date guys they have friend zoned.

This is exactly why after telling a girl who is a close friend of yours that you love her, she will either start avoiding you or she will start becoming uncomfortable around you - she would RARELY agree that she feels the same way (because she doesn't).

If you want a girl to see you as a boyfriend material then you have to start from the onset to give her boyfriend signals, not by telling her how you feel about her (This will only make her lose interest in you - i explained why on my website; www.straffcode.com ), the best way to make a girl see you as someone she might date in the future is to use BEDROOM TALK on her from the very beginning.

When you talk to her in this way she would One; not categorize you as just a friend. Two; she would begin to feel some level of sexual attraction to you.

when this happens then she would start seeing you as someone she can date i will explain what i mean,

Stay with me Bedroom talk is the art of talking to a girl in ways that trigger her sexual buttons or her sexual imaginations.

I don't mean sexchatting (That would be gross). Let me give you some real life example: For instance; assuming you are having some discussion with a girl and she says something you don't agree with, you could say something like: "see eh, if you say something like that again i will bite your lips for you" (In her head, this registers as a sexual tease and it triggers her imagination a bit - if you say it with the right voice tone it would be electric) Sure enough, if she doesn't already like you she might not imagine much of the sexual meaning of what you've just said, but when you keep giving her loads and loads of bedroom talks in the right way, it will start to have effect on her.

More examples: You could hug a girl and while she is still holding you, you could say something like: "help, she is molesting me.

where is my mummy" (I know, it sounds silly but it works - girls are tender creatures, tender things work on them)

Also you could be walking with a girl then you can turn and go like; "hey, stop checking out my hips joor, i'm not even up to 18 and you are looking at me that way" (Try this and watch her laugh her head off, hit you and then say: "go joor") Or you could say something like this after calling her up at night; "sleep tight, don't dream of me - i get girls pregnant in dreams".

(This one also works just fine) You get the gist?; you mix a little teasing and then charge it up with sexual fire.

Girls are very imaginative creatures; they are more affected by what they hear than what they see.

BUT Doing this the wrong way could backfire and make you look like a pervert - that's where my e- book comes in; in it i explained the step by step way to use this strategy so that girls will become madly sexually attracted to you.

WARNING Due to piracy concerns, ONLY 78 PERSONS Out of the thousands of guys reading this post now will be allowed to get the e-book this week, once we sell up to that particular number we would stop selling. Bear with me if you are turned down – For details on how to get the eBook today - contact my sales manager, Nonso, on watsapp using this number - 08158068422. Or call him on 07031839129.(Monday to Friday 8am -4pm only).

You can also send “I need the bang rule” to charlesnnejiofficial@gmail.com and details on how to get it will be sent to you within 24 hours.

HERE ARE THE MAIN THINGS YOU WILL BE LEARNING FROM MY Ebook, THE BANG RULE

I will have to be honest with you; just buying a book about how to get the girl of your dreams can not make girls to like you.

You have to actually practice what you will learn in the eBook if you want to get results.

So, if you are the type who doesn’t take action after learning something, then this book is not for you.

In Fact, as effective as what you will learn in this ebook is, only the action takers can really benefit from it.

But here is the good news; the secrets tips and tricks in it so easy to implement that So every guy can do it.

4 Nigerian women freed after police arrest 6 accused of keeping them as sex slaves in brothels

Four Nigerian women were rescued from 'voodoo' death threats after six people were arrested by Spanish police on suspicion of keeping the frightened victims as sex slaves.

According to investigators, the trafficking ring prostituted women in Lanzarote in the Canary Islands and other parts of Spain after luring them from their families in Nigeria.

They are accused of binding them to an oath to pay back money for the passage to Spain and casting voodoo-type spells to guarantee their obedience.

The women were recruited from poor families in Nigeria and told they would get regular employment in Spain.

They were then made to swear oaths that they would work off a debt to the gang of up to €50,000 (£37,000) before they could gain their freedom.

A kind of juju voodoo ritual was then performed, the police said, in which an animal would be sacrificed and something from the women's bodies, nail clippings or pubic hair, kept by their new masters.

The women believed that they and family members would be killed if they did not cooperate with the 'madames' who ran the brothels they ended up in, according to the police version of the gang's modus operandi.

The women were brought to Spain overland through Niger and Algeria to Morocco, where they joined other African immigrants attempting to reach the Canary Islands by boat.

The police said they could not give more specific information on the identities of the six suspects while a judge in Lanzarote oversees a full investigation.

Court authorities believed that the criminal gang sought to use under age girls as prostitutes but none of the four women freed from their virtual captivity by the police was believed to be under 18.

The investigation began in February when police in Lanzarote started to suspect that a woman had been the victim of illegal trafficking.

Officers then uncovered what they believe was a sex-slavery ring run by Nigerian citizens.

Spain's National Police said that prior to this case, between April 2013 and December 2014, they carried out 462 investigations into sex trafficking, leading to 1,450 arrests and the detection of 11,751 possible victims.

Prostitution is not illegal in Spain, but abusive pimping and soliciting in public places are penalised.

There are 1,400 identifiable brothels in Spain, not counting clandestine apartments or other places where sex can be bought, police said.

Nigerian offline library begins operation

More than 110 million people in Nigeria are still not connected to the internet largely because of poor infrastructure and a lack of fiber and mobile networks make it expensive and unreliable.

But now an ambitious project aims to give millions of students in the country access to a vast library of digital content.

But rather than depending on an internet connection to access it, the project has developed the resource for offline viewing.

The eGranary Digital Library – also known as The Internet in a Box – has been developed by a US- based non-profit called the WiderNet Project.

“It gives me up-to-date information unlike the normal library, where textbooks sometimes are outdated,” Abubakar Mohammed, a final year law student at Ahmadu Bello University, told Al Jazeera.

“It gives me an opportunity to access libraries not only in Nigeria but libraries outside.”

The project puts millions of digital documents, including websites, multimedia and academic texts, on to a server in a school or university.

This information is then available to local users at no cost, even when the internet goes down.

For Zainab Ismail, Islamic law student, the project means she no longer needs to visit the university book library. “[I find] anything I search for,” says Ismail.

“It is fast and works even without a connection. It helps me a lot before and after classes”

Students are not the only ones to use the service, which is viewed as especially cost-effective at a time when funding for education has been cut.

“Lecturers use it to update themselves, to conduct research, writing journals and their projects,” says Ibrahim Barkindo, a teacher at Ahmadu Bello University.

“Sometimes we read on screen; sometimes we save some of the pages and print them for later use.”

Other academics are proving slow to adopt the new technology, perferring the traditional library for their research.

“There are some categories of scholars that are really not too comfortable or not technology- savvy,” Abdullahi Musa Ibrahim, university librarian, says.

“Those scholars would rather touch the books, flip the pages and they feel much more comfortable.”

The eGranary project also lets readers upload and edit local material, allowing them to create and edit their own websites, which are stored locally.

The founders are also working in expanding access by putting the library onto a small chip.

This will allow it to be taken anywhere and is likely to further boost its popularity.

A 125 person orgy for the disabled is being held in Toronto in August

Stella Palikarova, a 35-year-old disability awareness consultant from Toronto, who recently presented a paper on dating and sexuality amongst heterosexual females with congenital mobility disabilities, has organized what may be the world’s first mass orgy for the disabled this summer.

The orgy is being called Deliciously Disabled and will take place on August 14th. The orgy, which is being hosted by Toronto’s Buddies in Bad Times Theatre, has room for 125 people, including 20 spots for wheelchairs. However, anyone is welcome to attend, disabled or not.

Palikarova, who herself is afflicted with spinal muscular atrophy, is hoping to break down barriers because intimacy amongst the disabled tends to be a taboo subject.

She says that “the Berlin Wall of sex for people with disabilities is coming down!” Some comments from some of this year's participants:

If you’re not shy, well, “a wheelchair can become just a big sex toy,” says Andrew Morrison-Gurza, 31, another organizer and disability awareness consultant who has cerebral palsy.

Okay, I know some of you are thinking, good on them. But some are murmuring, “ewwwww.” “Each to their own,” says Stella.

“The naysayers are just subconsciously hating the fact that people in wheelchairs are having great sex — better sex than a lot of people are having.

I won’t apologize for that.”

“By making this party accessible, we are saying openly that people with disabilities are sexual beings … and not only in more conventional ways.”

Everybody deserves to get their freak on, so good on them in trailblazing this very important cause.

In addition to the sex stuff, Palikarova is also hoping that the event will raise awareness for making Toronto more accessible to the disabled, an area which apparently has much room for improvement.

National Assembly Contests: The men driving the issues

A combination of carrot and stick by the leadership of the All Progressives Congress, APC was apparent as the National Chairman of the party, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun briefed the press in the party headquarters yesterday.

Part of the carrot was the softer language and appeal to the sensibilities of members-elect and senators-elect not to break the unity of the newly formed party having its first stay in power in Abuja.

The stick was a summons to a meeting with Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo which was yet to commence at press time.

Recalcitrant members were expected to be put under pressure to succumb to the endorsement of the party which last week put forward Senator Ahmad Lawan and Rep.

Femi Gbajabiamila for the posts of Senate President and Speaker of the House of Representatives.

The stick of using the office of the vice-president to whip the recalcitrant APC members-elect and senators-elect was of little effect last night following the consensus of supporters of Yakubu Dogara to abstain from that meeting.

The men in the frontline Hon.

Leo Ogor

Dogara and Sarak

Hon Ogor is a four term member of the House who first came to the House in 2003 on the basis of the principle of rotation in his constituency.

Once he arrived the House he became a central figure in the power caucus and was a central figure in many of the power intrigues in the Aminu Masari House.

Ogor was the Deputy Majority Leader in the last House, having been a central figure in the momentum that pushed Aminu Tambuwal forward to upset the party’s choice of Mulikat Adeola- Akande for the speaker of the House.

Even as deputy to Mrs. Adeola-Akande, he was generally acknowledged as the real leader of the PDP in the House after Tambuwal’s exit from the party.

His position as PDP leader in the new House is now almost indisputable.

He has been a central broker in the discussions between the agents of Dogora and the PDP caucus.

Suggestions were that he would come on board as the Deputy Speaker to Dogara. However, such suggestions are countered by the claim that Ogor would be better as Minority Leader and that moving him to the position of Deputy Speaker would lead to the disappearance of the PDP in the House.

Senator David Mark He is the leader of the PDP caucus in the party who has just left the office of Senate President that is now in contention.

Senator Mark had been believed to be wholly in support of Senator Ahmad Lawan’s aspiration as his replacement.

That was until he formed a partnership with Senator George Akume, who is well known as a harsh rival of Senator Mark in Benue State.

Senator Akume contested against Mark in the 2007 leadership contest and lost and not too long after shifted to the opposition.

Given Senator Mark’s past lack of cordiality with Senator Saraki and the latter’s purported 2019 presidential aspiration, there are suggestions that Senator Mark may consider Akume a lesser evil he could stomach than Saraki.

Governor Aminu Tambuwal

Even though he stepped out of the House less than two weeks ago, Governor Aminu Tambuwal’s popularity remains rocket high among members of the former House.

The governor is known to be pushing the Dogara project and has reportedly been working the phones among fellow governors to canvass consideration for Dogara.

His intervention together with Governor Yari have lately helped to check the religious factor among Northern Muslims who had shifted support for Dogara for religious considerations.

Dogara is a Christian from Bauchi State.

Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu The national leader of the APC is believed to be pushing the party’s position on the endorsement of Ahmad Lawan and Femi Gbajabiamila for the office of Senate President and Speaker of the House of Representatives respectively.

Tinubu’s involvement in the contest has received mixed reactions with some alleging that it would be wrong for him having produced the Vice-President to also produce the Senate President and the Speaker.

However, Senator Lawan has not projected himself as Tinubu’s candidate neither has Gbajbiamila.

However, the convergence of Tinubu’s political machine towards the aspiration of both men has left little doubt on where the party leader is standing on the issue.

Remarkably, almost all Southwest members-elect and senators-elect on the platform of the APC have openly pledged allegiance to the Lawan and Gbajabiamila.

However, under the cover of the secret voting system, a number of them will depart from the endorsed candidates.

That exactly was the reason Saraki refused to participate in the open voting system last Saturday as at least six APC senators-elect from the Southwest had secretly pledged allegiance to him.

The Jagaban as he is popularly called is believed to be pulling out as much resources as are available to him to push through the party candidates.

President Buhari President Buhari has so far removed himself from the squabble and given his word that he would work with any one that emerges as Senate President or as Speaker of the House of Representatives.

However, the president’s body language is another thing.

Indications that the body language tilted towards Lawan is said to have been the primary motif Tinubu dropped Akume for Lawan.

A number of the president’s core loyalists in the Senate are also supporting Lawan.

But that is where it stops.

The president’s inclinations in the leadership contest in the House of Representatives is as vague as anyone can guess.

F/Eagles now in top gear – NFF boasts

Apparently basking in the euphoria of the resurgence of the national U-20 team, the Flying Eagles in the ongoing FIFA World youth Championship (AYC) in New Zealand, the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) said the U-20 team of Germany would not pose any threat to the dream of the Flying Eagles to reach the finals of the championship as they clash in the second round of the championship on Thursday.

NEW PLYMOUTH, NEW ZEALAND – JUNE 01: Musa Yahaya #11 of Nigeria celebrates with team mates after he scores his teams second goal during the FIFA U-20 World Cup New Zealand 2015 Group E match between Nigeria and Brazil held at Stadium Taranaki on June 1, 2015 in New Plymouth, New Zealand. FIFA

Chairman of the technical committee of the NFF, Chief Felix Anyansi Agwu told the Sporting media yesterday in Abuja that the defeat of Nigeria by Brazil was a blessing in disguise because it re awakened the desire of the players to play well on the championship which they are competing as African champions.

“I think there is no stopping the Flying Eagles.

Even though they are playing Germany who are also the European champions, I strongly believe that the team is confident enough to pick the final ticket in this championship.

“Our loss in the first match to Brazil was enough to put them back in shape.

What happened to them against Brazil was a wake up call which they have heeded and bounced back.

They would have been filled with over confidence if they had won that match.

With their current form, I do not see them falling to Germany on Thursday.

They only have to maintain their form because this is the knockout stage of the tournament.”Anyansi stated.

The chairman of Enyimba International of Aba also reacted to the issue of Manchester City player, Kelechi Iheanacho warning that the character he exhibited when he was substituted could not be described as indiscipline even as he insisted that any player could start a game from the bench because all the 21 players in camp satisfied the coach before he selected them.

According to him the coaches were right to keep Iheanacho on the bench, because despite the fact that he is one of the best rated players in the team, the fact that he has not been with the team for a long time was enough for him to be on the bench.

“Iheanacho is one of the best rated players in the team, but it is obvious that he has been out of the team for a long time.

So it is not out of place for him to start from the bench if the coach decides so.

He could study the game from the bench and come in to play the role of the joker.

I know he has that capacity.

Now that he has trained together with his colleagues for some time, I think he can still play the major role that he is noted for in the team.

No particular player is indispensable in the team” Anyansi insisted.

Hundreds of corpses of Boko Haram victims reportedly litter Gwoza Mountain in Borno state

Hundreds of bodies of some of the victims of Boko Haram attacks who fled from Gwoza community in Borno state are reportedly decomposing at the mountains that surround Gwoza community.

A source who spoke with Sahara Reporters say most of the victims died due to hunger as they could not get food while they took refuge on the mountains during the period Boko Haram took their community hostage.

"Many atrocities were committed by Boko haram insurgents during Boko Haram reign at Gwoza, most of the mountain unburied bodies lying down.

Hundreds of corpses are still there.

Saraki reportedly boycotts APC leadership meeting to be chaired by Osinbajo, says he can't be summoned by a 'commissioner’

Below is how Sahara Reporters is reporting the new development ...

A truce meeting called on Monday by the leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has been boycotted by Senator Bukola Saraki, one of the party’s top contenders for the presidency of the Senate.

Senator Saraki boycotted the meeting after reportedly telling party leaders that as a former governor he could not attend a meeting summoned by a ‘mere commissioner’, referring to Professor Yemi Osinbajo, whose previous public office was as Commissioner of Justice in Lagos State.

Saraki then became a Senator, while Osinbajo is now the Vice President

. Following Saraki’s snub, Prof. Osinbajo didn’t bother to attend the meeting, but the party met with its elected lawmakers, with some of Saraki’s earlier supporters joining the meeting.

Sources at the meeting told SaharaReporters that the leaders of the National Working Committee of the APC reaffirmed their support for candidates chosen during Saturday’s mock primaries of the party.

The Senate and the House of Representatives are expected to be inaugurated tomorrow.

President Muhammad Buhari has given his blessing and dispatched a letter to the Clerk of the National Assembly asking to declare the two chambers inaugurated.

Buhari is expected to return to Abuja on Tuesday evening, according presidency sources.

APC is expected to hold a final meeting tonight to prepare for the elections of its principal officers of the National Assembly tomorrow.

70 year old man arraigned for stealing goat in Katsina

The police on Monday arraigned a 70-year-old man, Isa Hussaini, at the Upper Customary Court, Sabongari, Zaria, for stealing a goat.

Hussaini, a resident of Funtua LGA in Katsina State is facing a one-count charge of theft.

The prosecutor, Cpl. Bashir Abdullahi, told the court that the matter was reported through a distress call by the village head of Yakawada, Alhaji Rilwanu Yakawada in Giwa Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

He said that on June 2, Hussaini was found in possession of a goat suspected to be stolen.

Abdullahi said that when the suspect was challenged, he confessed to the theft, contrary to Section 319 (a) of the penal code.

The accused person pleaded guilty to the offence but the Judge, Mr Atiku Sarki-Yohanam, granted him bail in the sum of N30,000 and one reasonable surety in like sum.

The judge then adjourned hearing in the case until June 11.

In an interview after the hearing, the accused person confessed that he had spent 15 years in stealing business.

He said “I started this ugly job 15 years ago and I started by stealing maize and later started stealing goats because I sell beef kebab.

I steal to feed my two wives and six children,’’ he added.

Court refuses to stop Gbajabiamila’s speakership bid

Ahead of Tuesday’s inauguration of the new 8th National Assembly, a Federal High Court in Abuja on Monday rejected a prayer for the disqualification of a member-elect and the immediate past Minority Leader in the 7th House of Representatives, Mr. Femi Gbajabiamila, from contesting the position of the Speaker.

The All Progressives Congress, which constitutes the majority in the incoming National Assembly, had, after a mock election it organised on Saturday, nominated Gbajabiamila as its sole candidate for the office of the Speaker of the House of Representatives.

The inauguration of the new 8th National Assembly and election of the principal officers of both the Senate and the House of Representatives will hold on Tuesday.

A group, Social Justice and Civil Rights Awareness Initiative, had, on June 4, 2015, filed an ex parte application asking the court to restrain the House of Representatives from accepting Gbajabiamila’s nomination as an aspirant for the speakership position.

The plaintiff filed the ex parte application along with the main suit (FHC/ABJ/CS/501/2015) in which Gbajabiamila, the House of Representatives and the Attorney-General of the Federation were joined as the 1st to the 3rd defendants.

It also filed a motion on notice seeking an interim injunction against respondents, a prayer similar to what is contained in its ex parte application.

The plaintiff’s prayer was anchored on alleged “conviction” of Gbajabiamila in the state of Georgia, United States of America, for unethical practices in the course of his practice as a lawyer.

Gbajabiamila was said to have been suspended from practising as a lawyer for 36 months in Georgia State of the USA.

The plaintiff also accused Gbajabiamila of possessing United State of America’s passport even as a Nigerian descent.

The plaintiff alleged this contravened “our Constitution as regards membership of the House of Representatives.

” The plaintiff in its prayer in the ex parte application sought “an interim injunction restraining the 2nd defendant (the House of Representatives from accepting the nomination of the 1st defendant (Gbajabiamila) as an aspirant for the office of the Speaker of the House of Representatives pending the determination of the motion on notice.”

But Justice Abdukadir Abdu-Kafarati, on Monday, rejected the plaintiff’s ex parte application seeking to disqualify Gbajabiamila to contest for the office of the Speaker.

The judge, who heard the plaintiff’s lawyer, Chief Mike Ozekhome (SAN), inside his chamber, however, ordered the respondents to appear in court on June 18 to show cause why the prayer sought by the plaintiff in the ex parte application should not be granted.

It was learnt that the judge ordered that the processes filed in the suit be served on all the respondents in the suit.

Chairman, Board of Trustees of the Social Justice and Civil Rights Awareness Initiatives, Alozie Nmeregwa, stated in the affidavit filed in support of the ex parte application, that Gbajabiamila’s character had been tainted and thus not qualify to hold the office of the Speaker.

The affidavit read in part, “That few days ago, it came to public knowledge that the 1st defendant was a leading candidate to the position of the Speaker of the House of Representatives.

“That my organisation, following the wind of change that has pervaded the political environment in Nigeria, deemed it proper to carry out a background check on the leading candidates for the position of Speaker of the House of Representatives.

“That I discovered that the 1st defendant was a lawyer and practised in the United States of America, particularly in the state of Georgia.

“That upon further enquiry, I discovered that the 1st defendant was convicted in the state of Georgia for unethical practices and was disbarred for 36 months.

“That I also discovered that the 1st defendant has United States international passport even though he has Nigerian decent which contravened our Constitution as regards membership of the House of Representatives.

“That the mood of the nation today will not warrant placing the position of the Speaker of the House of Representatives in the hands of any individual that has tainted or questionable character.

” In the motion on notice, the plaintiff urged the court to determine “whether, upon the construction of Section 66 of the 1999 Constitution (as amended), the 1st defendant is a fit and proper person to be elected to the House of Representatives and/or the office of the Speaker of the House of Representatives.

” It consequently argued that the 1st defendant is not a fit and proper person to be elected as a member of the House of Representatives and/or as the Speaker of the House of Representatives.

Crucial facts that men must know

When we talk about sexual health, the focus is usually on women because of many peculiarities.

However, sexual health goes beyond gender, as it affects men and women alike.

Indeed, experts aver that reproductive health is an important component of men’s overall health and well-being.

One of the things that make men who they are is the male sex organ; its overall wellbeing cannot be overemphasised if men must function optimally biologically, mentally, physically and physiologically.

Physicians advise that routine visits with a health care provider can help prevent serious illness, as they can readily diagnose and treat the common conditions that affect men before they spiral out of control.

The Guttmacher Report on Public Policy laments that for much of their lives, men need a range of medical and, in particular, educational and counseling services to protect their own health and well-being, as well as to equip themselves to be good partners and fathers.

It notes that though policy makers are beginning to focus on men’s roles as fathers and husbands, little attention is being paid to their sexual and reproductive health needs. “Available data illustrate that those needs are substantial and long-term,” the report further says.

What are these health peculiarities that men should be aware of and guard against for overall well- being? Read on.

Peyronie’s disease Also known as induratio penis plastica or chronic inflammation of the tunica albuginea (the fibrous covering of the testis), physicians say this disease is caused by scar tissue along the length of the male sex organ, causing it to bend.

The condition can make sexual intercourse painful or difficult outright, they submit.

A General Practitioner, Dr. Grace Asiodu, says while the cause of this disease is basically unknown, researchers believe that it can develop after a trauma to the male sex organ – such as if something hits it hard, which may lead to internal bleeding inside the penis.

Again, she says – and this is instructive — certain medicines can have side effects that include Peyronie’s disease.

“That is why we say it’s dangerous to indulge in self-medication or abuse of drugs that the doctor may have prescribed for you at one point or the other,” Asiodu warns.

She also discloses that the disease sometimes runs in families, but that if sexual intercourse is not affected, it may not elicit much anxiety.

She says the problem is mostly visible when the penis is erect, as it can cause the organ to bend into an arc shape, a situation that sometimes results in sharp pain.

In terms of overall healing of this disease, opinion differs.

While some doctors say the situation can resolve itself in about five to 19 per cent of the cases, some patient’s case may require surgical correction.

However, according to Dr. Culley C. Carson III of the University of North Carolina, “A full recovery isn’t guaranteed.” Beware of fish Do you love to swim?

Actually, there’s absolutely nothing wrong with swimming, except that you should know ahead of it the types of fish that can be your unwanted companion while the exercise lasts! One fish to beware of as you swim is the candiru — also known as the vampire fish or toothpick fish.

Experts describe it “as a species of parasitic freshwater catfish that is peculiar to Latin America.

The horror surrounding this small fish is that, unlike other fish that we know, it is parasitic and feeds on blood!

How this affects you as a man? Here: the fish is so tiny that it can literally swim into your penis opening as you swim.

Once inside your manhood, it sees your urethra as a fish’s gill and then spreads a network of umbrella-like spines, which allow it to feed on your blood.

Experts say it could be removed through surgical intervention; but they also warn that the process could be terribly painful.

So, before you jump into that water, you may want to wear a cap on your manhood!

Too many women can kill Many men count it a symbol of virility by getting around with many sexual partners.

Physicians are saying it’s one sure way to a diseased life.

Asiodu says Chlamydial urethritis is caused by the bacteria Chlamydia trachomatis, and it can cause the inflammation or blockage of the urethra.

When you consider the fact that the urethra serves as the passage for urine and semen during sexual intercourse, you’d work hard to protect your own! The physician adds, “Chlamydia and gonorrhoea often occur together, and it affects people who are sexually active and those with multiple sexual partners.”

The symptoms include difficulty in urinating, painful urination, burning sensation during urination, discharge from the penis, redness, swelling, itching of the opening of the urethra at tip of the penis, swelling and tenderness of the testicles “The symptoms can appear similar to those of infection with gonorrhea, but continue even after treatment for gonorrhea,” experts at medlineplus, an online community, say.

In fact, as bad as this infection is, a case study from India reports that it can leave the penis twisted and swollen, making sexual intercourse absolutely impossible! So, men who think that conquering the world amounts to fooling around sexually should have a rethink.

Vigorous sex can break you In these days of unguarded drug use, it’s not uncommon to see men who take aphrodisiacs at will, all in a bid to ‘surprise’ their partners.

However, researchers at Ohio State University warn that vigorous sex can break the cylindrical tubes (the corpus cavernosa) that fill with blood when you have an erection!

The scientists warn, “These tubes can rupture and cause blood to fill your penis, leading to swelling and permanent deformity or loss of sexual function if not surgically treated immediately.” Copyright PUNCH.All rights reserved.

Dangote to expand Ethiopian cement plant

The President, Dangote Group, Alhaji Aliko Dangote, has said that plans are afoot to double the capacity of the newly opened 2.5 million- metric-tonne per annum cement plant in Ethiopia.

Dangote, who stated this at the inauguration of the $500m plant located in Mugher District, Oromia national regional state of Ethiopia, said the expansion work would begin before the end of the year.

According to him, the decision to set up as well as expand the plant was informed by the enabling environment created by the Ethiopian government with massive investment in several large-scale infrastructure projects, including the construction of the continent’s largest hydropower dam.

He noted that in addition to the plant known as Dangote Cement (Ethiopian) Plc, the company was simultaneously setting up new plants and terminals across 16 African countries. He said,

“This is in line with our long term vision to become the world’s biggest cement producers.

We envisage that by the time we complete all our ongoing African projects, we will be on track to achieving our target. “We believe that manufacturing and not trading is the best way to grow an economy.

Apart from cement production, we are also investing substantially in other sectors of the economy such as agriculture, oil and gas refinery, fertilizer and petrochemicals.

In all, we have 13 subsidiaries in Nigeria and we are investing about $16bn between now and 2018 in new projects and existing plants.”

The Ethiopian factory is Dangote’s sixth offshore plant that have commenced operations outside Nigeria.

Others countries where the company currently has plants running are Cameroon, Senegal, Ghana, South Africa and Zambia, while some other plants are at various stages of construction across the continent.

Dangote said the Ethiopian plant would create direct employment for 2,000 people in the main plant operations and logistics, with a fleet of 600 trucks; while 5,000 indirect jobs would also be created, adding that African businessmen should invest more in the continent.

He noted that achieving a real economic integration in the African continent would require political stability and a breakdown of the barriers and borders between countries, which hindered free flow of goods, services and people. Dangote added, “We need to make deliberate efforts to encourage Africans, not just foreigners, to invest in Africa.

Dangote Cement is currently in 16 African countries with plans to invest in many more over the next years.

“There are a number of other successful pan- African brands today such as MTN, Shoprite and Ecobank.” “We need to encourage this trend to see more investments in Africa by Africans.

Above all, there is need to encourage the private sector to collaborate with governments across Africa to address the issue of infrastructure deficit, which has plagued the continent for decades.”

The Governor, Central Bank of Nigeria, Mr. Godwin Emefiele, stated that the Ethiopian plant underscored the importance of promoting intra- African investment. “Africans have the capacity to drive the continent’s growth rather than rely on foreign investment.

This project will have economic effect not only on Ethiopia, but on the entire region and it will enhance the process of Africa exporting cement to other continents of the world,” he said.

The Prime Minister, Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, Hailemariam Desalegn, noted that as one of the fastest growing economies in the world, the country’s investment potential had barely been scratched on the surface.

He said the government was spending millions of dollars on critical infrastructure to address investment and align with policies that were already in place to aid investors. “Ethiopia represents a lucrative market that has barely been tapped with its 95 million people and growing economy,” he said.

Ethiopia’s Minister of Industry, Ahmed Abitew, said that with the new plant, the cement sector of the country would make significant growth in meeting local demand, which has grown due to infrastructural development.

According to him, production has currently risen from 11.23 million metric tonnes to 17.5 million metric tonnes per annum.

“The government is giving due attention to the industrial sector with its average growth of 20 per cent per annum,” he said.

Dangote also encouraged the Nigerian delegation at the event, which included captains of industries, to invest in Ethiopia and other parts of the continent, adding that the policies that had been put in place by the CBN to create an enabling environment for the private sector in Nigeria should be replicated across the continent.
